Barsetti Vineyards
About Barsetti Vineyards
In the early 1900's, Gottardo Barsetti came to America from the southern region of Switzerland to fulfill his dream of owning and farming his own land. That dream became a reality in 1912, when he settled in the Galt area in the Lodi Wine Region of California. After four generations, the Barsetti family continues to fulfill the vision that began over a century ago: farming the land that they love with the same passion.
Gotlardo’s granddaughter, Janis Barsetti Gray and her husband, Richard Gray, who passed away in 2015, own Barsetti Vineyards. On the family property, she raises Zinfandel, Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay. This land once was fertile with crops and a successful dairy and cattle ranch operated by her father and grandfather. After years of distributing their wines to grocery chains, she and Richard opened the new tasting room in historic, Old Town Galt. This area holds a significance to Janis and her family's history. Janis has continued with the dream that she and Richard had of opening their own tasting room. Our tasting room has all of our wines, with all grapes grown in the Lodi Wine Region, as well as boutique items, olive oils, vinegars, candy treats and nuts, and jellies from local businesses. The tasting room has live music on most Friday and Saturday evenings with a small cover charge (this fee is waived for our Wine Club members).
